Frédéric Desmarais (Law III) has won the 2006 Matthieu-Bernard legal essay contest organized by the Société québécoise de droit international. His paper, "Le consentement préalable, libre et éclairé des peuples autochtones en droit international à la lumière des modèles de l'intégrité culturelle et de l'autodétermination: l'émergence d'un principe prématuré," impressed the jury, who declared it an excellent paper, with its solid documentation and detailed analysis. His text will be published in the Revue québécoise de droit international in March 2007.

McGill's administrative systems, including Minerva, are undergoing an important upgrade. From Friday, November 10, at 5 pm to Monday, November 13, at 9 am, all Banner systems at McGill will be down. This affects all students, applicants and employees who try to access Minerva, including the online application form, as well as administrators trying to access INB (Internet Native Banner).
At an event held November 8 at the National Assembly in Quebec City, Professor H. Patrick Glenn was awarded the 2006 Prix Léon-Gérin.
The system used to manage and cross-search article indexes and databases will be temporarily unavailable from Saturday, Nov. 11 as of 11 pm to Nov. 12, 1 am. The "Find It McGill" feature will be briefly unavailable toward the end of this period while the system is being rebooted. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Minerva and Banner interfaces are once again available and users can immediately begin using Minerva, including the online application form, and Internet Native Banner.
