Geoff Molson, 45, is president and CEO of CH Group Limited Partnership, owner of the Montreal Canadiens, Bell Centre and Evenko, and chairman of the board of Molson Coors Brewing Co.

Dr. Eugene Bereza elected president of the Canadian Bioethics Society

Eugene Bereza, MDCM'88, was elected president of the Canadian Bioethics Society. He also serves as the director of the newly founded Centre for Applied Ethics at the McGill University Health Centre.

Eugene is also a member of the Ministry of Health and Social Services' Groupe de travail interdisciplinaire sur l'aide médicale à mourir. The group aims to help prepare Quebec health care institutions for the implementation of Bill 52: An Act respecting end-of-life care, which legalizes euthanasia in Quebec.

David Saint-Jacques will be the next Canadian astronaut in space

David Saint-Jacques, MedResident '07, will be the next Canadian astronaut to take part in a space mission.

He is scheduled to travel to space in November, 2018, for a six-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). An adjunct professor in McGill's Department of Family Medicine, he supervised medical trainees in Nunavik as a McGill clinical faculty lecturer.

McGill alumni and friends converged on Montreal from points around the world in May for the annual McGill Alumni Association Honours and Awards Banquet, where oustanding volunteers are recognized for all they do for McGill and their communities.

During this event, community leader and founder of Fédération des femmes musulmanes du Québec (FFMQ), Doaa Farid, a Ph.D. candidate, accepted her Gretta Chambers Student Leadership Award from Chancellor Emerita Gretta Chambers, BA'47.

Phishing scam: "Subject: ICT Technical Support"

There is a phishing email circulating with content relating to the migration of email accounts into "Outlook Web App 2016". It contains the words "ICT Technical Support" and the message requests that the recipient click on a link and log in to migrate.

Sarah Marshall CPA President-Elect

Prof. Sarah Marshall is the new President-Elect of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). She started her tenure in spring of 2016 and will transition to CPA President in one year’s time, for a term of two years. Sarah has served on the Board of Directors since she was elected in 2014.
