 Michael Loft Retires after nine years of service at McGill University

After nine years of service at McGill University, Michael Loft, Mohawk from Kahnawake, retired from his position as Academic Associate in the School of Social Work this past June. The focus of his work was raising awareness of Indigenous experiences, history and perspectives. Faculty, staff and students from across the University, including Provost and Vice Principal (Academic), Professor Christopher P. Manfredi and Hudson Meadwell, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, joined Michael to celebrate his retirement on June 16, 2016 at the Faculty Club.

Professor Shariff appears before House of Commons' Standing Committee on the Status of Women

Dr. Shaheen Shariff, of our Department of Integrated Studies in Education, has been invited to appear as an expert witness before the House of Commons' Standing Committee on the Status of Women. 

The House of Commons' Standing Committe on the Status of Women had adopted a motion to "study violence in the lives of young women and girls."
