We are entering a new era in our understanding of the brain and how we can prevent and treat brain disorders. How can we enhance our understanding in order to answer big questions about the brain? How can we dive into the questions that really matter? How do we handle big data and foster open science? We are aiming towards an integrated vision of the brain that emphasizes the importance of combining knowledge from many different fields in a unified framework. We will present ways in which “thinking outside the brain” has proven to be beneficial for brain research within our centre along with a workshop to foster collaborative learning and encourage synergies.
