Jamaica
January 2012
CARIWIN purchased and installed stream gauging and rainfall monitoring equipment in the pilot communities of each of the collaborating countries. Installations were completed in Grenada and Guyana in 2008. There was a delay in Jamaica due to the financial crisis that gripped the country. Nevertheless, the hydrometric station has been established in Mile Gully this past January and will supplement the monitoring grid for the country. Data generated by the station will be used during the upcoming training session on drought monitoring through the CDPMN, planned to take place in Jamaica in May 2012.
