Position Summary:

Identify, develop and implement the architecture for the IT solutions that support the Business Needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, analyze, propose and architect the appropriate IT solution(s) to support the business need.
  • Support other IT units involved in the design, construction and implementation of the IT solution; communicate and explain the solution; gain consensus; actively support the delivery of such solutions to ensure solution is delivered and functions as designed and architected.
  • Refine and validate project scope and objectives for assigned projects.
  • Research emerging technology to propose IT solutions that align with enterprise-wide orientation and vision.
  • Develop and maintain the application model (conceptual and logical).
  • Provide expert technical consulting across the organization and assistance and leadership in solving complex technical problems
  • Provide first-level review of vulnerability assessments.
  • Conduct risk and gap analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Establish high-level and detailed estimates in collaboration with other IT resources as input to project planning.

Education and Experience:

Undergraduate Degree

Five (5) years’ related experience

Other Qualifying Skills and Abilities:

Proven experience as a solution architect in the following areas: development and maintenance of systems, systems integration, package acquisition, evolving the application target architecture plans. ASSET : implementation of at least one ERP application and/or two significant upgrades, implementation of at least three applications and at least one significant upgrade of one of these applications. Master at system modeling techniques (ArchiMate or equivalent), data modeling techniques (E/R), SOA concepts, best practices, design and implementation, architectures integrating with Cloud-computing solutions. Familiarity with Solution Delivery methodologies (Macroscope Productivity Center an asset), ERP solutions including but not limited to Student, Human Resources, Payroll, Finance and Student Aid. ASSET: Groovy, Grails, Hibernate, Spring, DRUPAL, knowledge of Banner, imaging applications, Workflow/Document management, Oracle, Oracle Forms, Oracle Portal, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript. Customer oriented, resourceful, conceptual thinker. Knowledge of business process techniques (BPMN). Ability to identify risk and success factors, assess and present solution alternatives to meet business requirements. Deals well with ambiguity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. English spoken and written and French spoken.
