 d how to navigate sensitive issues in academic hiring.\n\nPANELISTS:\n\nMi
 ndy Carter\, Assistant Professor\, Department of Integrated Studies in Edu
 cation\, McGill University\n\nDr. Carter conducts research in drama and th
 eatre education primarily with in- and pre- service teachers with a focus 
 on questions of indigenous pedagogy\, art processes\, and the relations of
  schooling. Her research projects and writing have provided international 
 insight into teacher identity\, pedagogy\, arts based research and creativ

  Auclair\, Professor\, Department of Chemistry\, McGill University\n\nKari
 ne Auclair was born in Jonquiere (now Saguenay)\, QC\, Canada. As a gradua
 te student (1994-1999) in the lab of Prof. J. C. Vederas at the University
  of Alberta (Edmonton\, Canada)\, she studied the biosynthesis of the chol
 esterol-lowering drug lovastatin (Mevacor). Amongst her thesis achievement
 s\, she reported the first purified natural Diels-Alderase. Next\, she mov
 ed to the University of California at San Francisco (USA) to pursue post-d
 octoral studies with Prof. P. R. Ortiz de Montellano (1999-2001). Her rese
 arch results contributed to the mechanistic understanding of heme oxygenas
 es and P450 enzymes. In 2002\, she started her independent career as an As
 sistant Professor of Chemistry at McGill University (Montreal\, Canada). S
 he was promoted Associate Professor of Chemistry with tenure in 2006\, and
  Full Professor in 2016. She was a Visiting Scientist at Boehringer Ingelh
 eim (Laval\, Canada) in 2010. Her current research at McGill three researc
 h areas: 1) antibiotic resistance\; 2) enzymology (especially P450 enzymes
 )\; and 3) biocatalysis (including solvent-free mechanoenzymatic reactions
 ). Some of her key contributions include new antibiotic resistance inhibit
 ors\, new antibacterial agents\, new insights into enzyme allostery\, the 
 first molecules able to resensitize bacteria to the host immune defense it
 aconate\, and the development of a process for solvent-free degradation of
  biomass. Recent awards that she has received include the McGill Leo Yaffe
  Award for excellence in teaching and the McGill Fessenden Professorship.
 \n\nScientific contributions: Karine Auclair has published more >70 peer-r
 eviewed scientific articles and 1 copyright. She is also a co-inventor on 
 6 patents. The majority of her publications are in high-impact scientific 
 journals\, such as: Science (34.4)\, Nature Chem. Biol. (13.2)\, Nature St
 ruct. Mol. Biol. (11.6)\, Angew. Chem. (13.7)\, J. Am. Chem. Soc. (11.4)\,
  Green Chem. (6.9)\, Chem. Eur. J. (5.9)\, J. Med. Chem. (5.5)\, ACS Chem.
  Biol (5.4)\, etc. Her articles are also well cited\, with more than 2000 
 citations in total. Many of her publications were highlighted by scientifi
 c journals\, or selected by reviewers for cover art\, back cover art\, aut
 hor highlights. Two were selected as the best article of the year in her d
 epartment\, and one resulted in her being awarded the Fessenden Professors
 hip at McGill.\n\nSpecific Expertise: Karine Auclair is a chemist by train
 ing\, with expertise at the interface of chemistry\, biochemistry and micr
 obiology. In particular\, she has experience in organic synthesis\, biocat
 alysis\, enzymology\, enzyme inhibition\, medicinal chemistry\, cloning\, 
 protein expression and engineering (via mutagenesis or regioselective chem
 ical reactions)\, and various antibacterial activity studies.\n\nJulie Cum
 ming\, Professor\, Schulich School of Music\n\nJulie Cumming has taught mu
 sic history at McGill University since 1992. Her work focuses on early mod
 ern polyphonic music\, with a focus on the motet\, historical improvisatio
 n\, compositional process\, and digital humanities. She was the Interim De
 an of the Schulich School of Music in 2016-2017\, Director of Graduate Stu
 dies (2001-2003 and 2009-2010)\, and Associate Dean of Research and Admini
 stration (2011-2016). She is the winner of several teaching awards\, inclu
 ding the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools Teaching Award\, doc
 toral level (2017).  She has been a co-investigator on two major grants le
 d by McGill English professor Paul Yachnin (“Making Publics” and “Early Mo
 dern Conversions”)\, she was the PI of a Digging into Data Challenge Grant
  (2012-14)\, and is co-leader (with Ichiro Fujinaga\, Music Technology) on
  a SSHRC Partnership Grant\, “Single Interface for Music Score Searching a

 r France Bouthillier is Associate Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studie
 s at McGill University since 2015 and Associate Professor at the School of
  Information Studies (SIS) since 1992.  She has been for 12 years the Dire
 ctor of the SIS and the Graduate Program Director of the Master of Library
  and Information Studies (MLIS).  Under her leadership\, the MLIS was reva
 mped as the Master of Information Studies\,  and a new PhD program in Info
 rmation Studies was introduced in addition to three graduate certificates 
 in Information and Knowledge Management\, Information Architecture and Dig
 ital Archives Management. Her research areas include competitive intellige
 nce\, knowledge management\, business information services\, and the manag
 ement of library/information services. \n\nLydia White\, Professor\, Depar
 tment of Linguistics\, McGill University\n\nLydia White is James McGill Pr
 ofessor of Linguistics and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. She ha
 s a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Cambridge University (1969) and a
  PhD in Linguistics from McGill (1980). She is Co-Editor of a book series 
 and she is on the Editorial Boards of several international journals. Lydi
 a White is internationally recognized as a leading scholar in the field of
  generative second language acquisition. For many years\, her research has
  been funded by major grants from SSHRCC and FRQSC. She has published more
  than 130 scholarly articles and is the author of two acclaimed textbooks 
 that have influenced the training of researchers world-wide. She has super
 vised more than 25 PhD students working on topics relating to second langu
 age acquisition and she has participated in numerous PhD oral defences!\n
 \nShawn Robbins\, Assistant Professor\, School of Physical & Occupational 
 Therapy\, McGill University\n\nDr. Shawn Robbins is currently an Assistant
  Professor in the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill Un
 iversity. He completed his BScPT and PhD at the University of Western Onta
 rio in 2001 and 2010 respectively and did a post-doctoral fellowship at Da
 lhousie University. Dr. Robbins' research utilizes biomechanical and clini
 cal measures to assess orthopaedic health conditions and the interventions
  used to treat these conditions in both clinical and laboratory settings.

 chi.   Before McGill he taught at Oxford University for five years.  He ca
 me to McGill to work with Henry Mintzberg\, they co-direct McGill’s Advanc
 ed Leadership Program.      \n\nHe has taught extensively in executive edu
 cation programs including at Oxford\, Cambridge\, Duke\, LBS\, RSM\, Queen
 s\, McGill\, IIM Bangalore\, Renmin (Beijing)\, and Darden. An active cons
 ultant Dr. Moore has worked with Air Canada\, BA\, Nokia\, IBM\, Volvo\, H
 P\, Motorola\, Accenture\, Morgan Stanley and other firms.\n\nDr. Moore's 
 publications include over a hundred and fifty articles\, books\, chapters 
 in books\, and papers with over 2\,300 Google Scholar citations. His resea
 rch has been published in a number of leading journals including: Strategy
  Management Journal\, Business History\, MIR\, Canadian Journal of Public 
 Health\, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science\, Chief Executive\, Human R
 elations\, Leader to Leader\, and Strategy + Business.  He just finished a
  book on Leading\, Managing\, Working Effectively With Millennials and is 
 working on his next book\, Introverted/Ambiverted/Extroverted Leaders\, is
  research on Quiet Leaders was recently highlighted in the world renowned 
 Schumpeter Column of The Economist (http://econ.st/2cuabZd).\n\nHe has rec
 ognized as a world expert on strategy and leadership.  For three years he 
 has blogged for Forbes and for eight he had done a weekly interview for th
 e Globe and Mail where he interviews leading CEOs one week and the other w
 eek the top business professors in leadership and strategy and the world’s
  best universities.  In January 2015 he started a weekly program\, the CEO
  Series for CJAD in Montreal where does CEO interviews one-on-one for an h
 our\, some of the people interviewed have included:  Prime Minister Justin
  Trudeau\, Nobel Prize Winner Muhammed Yunus\, former Google CFO\, Patrick
  Pichette\, and Geoff Molson.\n\nKarl was recently nominated for the 2017 
 Thinkers50 Distinguished Achievement Awards in the Leadership Category as 
 a top thinker in the area for his work on introverts/extroverts in the C-S
 uite & Millennials. Seven others were nominated including faculty from Har

 tment of Pharmacology & Therapeutics\, McGill University\n\nBernard Robair
 e received his B.A from UCLA and his Ph.D. from McGill University. After a
  postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University\, he returned to McGi
 ll to take up a joint appointment in the Departments of Pharmacology & The
 rapeutics and of Obstetrics & Gynaecology where he has remained and is cur
 rently a James  McGill Professor.  Dr. Robaire’s research interests focus 
 on aging of the male reproductive system\, male-mediated reproductive toxi
 cology\, mechanisms of androgen actions\, and the structure\, function\, a
 nd regulation of the epididymis. This research activity has resulted in ov
 er 200 journal articles\, 70 book chapters\, and editing/co-editing of 10 
 books. He conceived and has been co-Editor of both editions of the Handboo
 k of Andrology. He has mentored many graduate students (275 PhDs\, 10 MSc)
  and over 20 Postdoctoral Fellows\, most of whom have gone on to have succ
 essful careers in academia\, industry and government. His team’s work has 
 been funded by the CIHR/MRC continuously since he opened his lab as well a
 s by the NIH\, March of Dimes\, FRQNT\, FRQS\, and the private sector. Hon
 ors awarded to Dr. Robaire during his career include the Award for Excelle
 nce in Reproduction from the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFA
 S) and the Distinguished Academic Award of the CAUT.  He received both of 
 the highest recognitions from the American Society of Andrology (ASA): the
  Distinguished Service Award and the Distinguished Andrologist Award. Over
  the last few years\, he was awarded the R. Howard Webster Foundation Awar
 d in Reproductive Medicine\, the Prix du Mentor Scientifique (CRCQ)\, the 
 Prix Guy Rochon (FQPPU)\, the Gabriel Plaa Award of Distinction of the Can
 adian Society of Toxicology\, and in 2013 he was elected as a Fellow of th
 e Royal Society of Canada. He has served as President of CFAS\, North Amer
