 uesday\, October 1\n\n \n\nLufa Farms\n\nAt Lufa Farms\, we’re on a missio
n to change the way people eat by growing food where people live and growi
ng it more sustainably. To accomplish this\, we built the world’s first co
mmercial rooftop greenhouse in 2011\, four more greenhouses since (built i
 n 2013\, 2017\, 2020\, and 2024)\, and an indoor farm completed in 2023. W
ith each new urban farm\, we hold ourselves to an ever-higher standard of
sustainability and technical ingenuity\, growing dozens of vegetables\, gr
eens\, and herbs hydroponically. All of our greenhouses run following our
five principles of responsible agriculture: repurposing unused spaces\, re
circulating water\, conserving energy\, reducing waste\, and using biocont
rols instead of synthetic pesticides. We also partner with local farmers a
nd food makers to provide our customers with hundreds of products through
our online Marketplace. Every week\, we assemble 30\,000 customized basket
s filled with fresh\, local\, responsible food and deliver them to our net
work of pick-up points across Quebec\, or straight to customers’ doors. As
we grow we aim to continue developing an economically and ecologically su
stainable model of food production.\n\nOpen to all students\, undergraduat
