You’re finishing your graduate degree and exploring careers beyond the academy – but how do you convert your academic cv into something legible and meaningful for employers outside higher education? Join us for a workshop sharing strategies for translating your record of academic achievement into a new document – a resume - designed for non-academic job applications.

Open to all: This session is designed for graduate students and postdocs, and open to undergraduates.

Learning objectives:

  1. Learn about the differences between academic cv’s and non-academic industry resumes
  2. Identify transferrable skills and learn how to articulate them as relevant experience in the context of a non-academic job application
  3. Feel confident rethinking your career stories and applying for jobs outside academia
  4. Learn about myInvolvement and the Co-curricular record as tools in process of resume-building
