DESCRIPTION:Register Here\n\nJoin our May Lunch & Learn session with Thomas
Davidson\, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Rutge
rs University.  Professor Davidson will speak on the development of Genera
tive Artificial Intelligence(GAI)\, for example how ChatGPT has raised sig
nificant public debate. He will particularly focus on the applications of
the technologies as methods for sociological inquiry and examine potential
applications in three different areas including computational\, experimen
tal and qualitative research. Our event will delve into the implications o
f GAL for bias and bias mitigation efforts\, shedding light on the potenti
al risks and opportunities that arise in the pursuit of fair and equitable
AI systems. Some of Professor Davidson’s current research examines how di
gital trace data from social media and other websites combined with statis
tical analysis and computational methods\, including natural language proc
 essing and machine learning.\n\n\nItinerary \n\n12:00 - 12:05 | Welcome an
