M.Sc. in Chemistry (Chemical Biology option) (45 credits)
Please note: a grayed out course title means the course is currently not offered this year.
Required courses (5 credits)
The curriculum of the Chemical Biology Option is structured so that in completing the Option, students also complete the course requirements for the regular graduate programs in their home departments. For this reason, program requirements are listed separately below for each department, even though the 'core' content in Chemical Biology (9 lecture credits plus 2 or 4 seminar credits for each program) is the same for each.
See course requirements for the Chemical Biology option:
The Chemical Biology Option is offered by three departments: Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
2007 marks one century of Biochemistry taught at McGill. In the year 1907, Dr Robert F. Ruttan was appointed the first Professor of Biochemistry!! This is certainly a reason to celebrate!
This Article is an abridged version entitled "A Sixty-Year Evolution of Biochemistry at McGill University", Scientia Canadensis, V. 27 (2003) pp. 27-84 published by Rose Johnstone, Professor Emeritus, McGill Gilman Cheney Chair in Biochemistry.
