Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series: Developing Methods for Rapid and Robust Neuroimaging
The Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series will advance the vision of Dr. William Feindel (1918–2014), Former Director of the Neuro (1972–1984), to constantly bridge the clinical and research realms. The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and neuroimaging.
Speakers will include scientists from across The Neuro, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a virtual forum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdisciplinary exchanges on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of brain and cognitive disorders.

Abstract: In this talk, an overview of recent research from the speaker's group will be provided, focusing on image acquisition and reconstruction methods for rapid and robust neuroimaging. The presentation will begin with recent work on self-supervised learning for accelerated multi-contrast structural brain imaging. This will be followed by a discussion on robust multi-shot EPI for fMRI at 7T, aimed at improving image quality and temporal stability in the presence of inter-shot phase fluctuations and motion corruptions. The talk will also highlight reconstruction strategies for enhanced simultaneous-multi-slice fMRI of awake, behaving non-human primates, ultra-high resolution fMRI at 7T using radial-cartesian acquisitions, and conclude with perspectives on uncertainty quantification in denoising of MRSI data.
