Maren Gube is a PhD candidate in Learning Sciences and a member of the ATLAS (Advanced Technologies for Learning in Authentic Settings) Lab in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University. She has prior experience in executive management, and transitioned to a Master’s in Educational Psychology after raising family. Her doctoral research focuses on the affective and motivational processes that allow learners to innovate by accessing their knowledge fluidly, flexibly, and creatively in order to become adaptive, rather than merely routine, experts. She tries to practise what she preaches (researches) as an amateur musician and recreational athlete.
