Come and learn one of the most important languages of the world in the heart of one of North America’s most culturally diverse cities, Montreal. Hosted by McGill University, the Arabic Summer Program is an intensive and immersive language experience that combines formal language training in Modern Standard and Colloquial Arabic with cultural and social activities.
Delivered by specialized language trainers over a period of eight weeks, the program is designed to come as close as possible to the experience of staying in an Arab country. Thus, it not only covers the material that a regular course at a North American university would in one academic year, but also offers access to extracurricular activities such as lectures, cultural and social activities, excursions, and clubs that expose students to cinema, journalism, cuisine, music, drama, and more.
The teaching philosophy is based on a language oath, meaning that during the entire length of the program, the students and teachers are not permitted to speak any other language than Arabic. Courses at various levels, as well as many of the cultural activities, are held strictly in Arabic starting at the earliest level.
Classes are available at the beginner, intermediate, and higher intermediate levels and are open to undergraduates, graduates, and professionals.

Montreal is known to be a francophone city. So how can you get immersed into Arabic language and culture here? We have asked our students; after all, who could speak better to this than Arabic learners who live and study in Montreal?
McGill's Arabic program... according to our students.
Our students are at the center of our program; their success is what really counts. We are constantly striving to find interesting, effective and engaging ways to help students achieve this success in learning Arabic. But you don’t have to take our word for it.
