Pre-Tenure-Track - Assistant Professor (Special Category)
An academic staff member appointed to a pre-tenure-track position for a non-renewable definite term of one year. On the fulfillment of the condition(s) specified in the letter of appointment, will be appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor.
The Regulations Relating to the Employment of Tenure Track and Tenured Academic Staff govern this academic classification.

|Joint Appointment Possible?||"Joint" status cannot be indicated for the Assistant Professor (Special Category) position, instead:
(i) use an Associate Member appointment in Banner;
(ii) indicate joint affiliations via the Labour Distribution on the ARC### position code.
