PROCEDURE
DEFINITION Contractual appointment during which appointees are expected to devote themselves primarily to teaching – minimum qualifications a graduate degree or equivalent. Appointees are not eligible for consideration for tenure. Contractual appointment. Appointee has a graduate degree plus six years continuous employment as a Faculty Lecturer at McGill and meets the promotion criteria of their department (normally superior performance in teaching). Exceptionally, may be an entry level appointment for person who has minimum of six years similar continuous employment at another institution and who meets the other requirements. Appointees are not eligible for consideration for tenure. Contractual appointment during which appointees are expected to devote themselves to academic duties assigned by their chair/dean, reflected by a "descriptor" in parenthesis to their rank. Appointees are not eligible for consideration for tenure. Contractual appointment conferred on CAS Assistant Professors or on new appointees who are judged to have met the appropriate criteria for this rank.
