From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.


Du samedi 5 octobre au lundi 7 octobre, le campus du centre-ville et le campus Macdonald ne seront accessibles qu’aux étudiants et aux membres du personnel de l’Université McGill, ainsi qu’aux visiteurs essentiels. Marcus Prasad

Marcus is a doctoral student in Communication Studies working under the supervision of Dr. Bobby Benedicto and Dr. Alanna Thain. Specializing in psychoanalysis, sexuality studies, and film theory, his research thinks through subjectivity and figuration in contemporary film and art. Marcus is a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Fellow (2024-2027) and a recipient of the Fonds de Recherche de Québec – Société et Culture (2024-2028).

Prior to his doctoral studies, Marcus completed his BA Honours in Art History at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Monteyne in 2018. He continued his studies at UBC and received his MA in Art History in 2020, advised by Dr. Ignacio Adriasola and Dr. Erin Silver. His MA thesis, Splitting Space: Destabilizing the Suburban House in Postwar Art and Contemporary Horror Film was supported by the Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship and the Ian Wallace Award in Art History.
