Anja Bock, PhD, is a contemporary art historian and critic based in Montreal. Her research focuses on the spatial turn in visual art since 1960, with an emphasis on immersion, subjectivity, sculpture and curatorial intervention. Her doctoral dissertation, The Crossover of New Media Immersion and Site-Specificity: Contemporary Art and Spatial Experience, addressed the influence of new-media on installation art. She has taught at both Concordia and McGill University. Published writings can be found in national and international periodicals, including Canadian Art, Border Crossings, CV Photo, Prefix Photo and Art Papers, as well as conference proceedings and independent publications.
