We are a group of researchers under the supervision of Dr. Kathryn Gill based at the MUHC's Addictions Unit and the McGill University Department of Psychiatry sharing a common interest in the study of drug and alcohol addiction. Our research is aimed at improving services and outcomes for patients. In addition, some studies are being conducted to further understand the genetic, biological and psychological factors that contribute to the development of addiction.
Some themes of our research include:
- Social epidemiology of drug and alcohol addiction
- Aboriginal mental health
- Treatment of substance use disorders
- Implementation of research findings on addiction into health practice.
For more information on our past and ongoing studies, please see our current projects.
