The tutors can answer some of the most challenging questions and help give students what they need to obtain results in their respective field of study. This program also offers direct contact with an upper-year student who has already been through the program.
ELATE (Enhancing Teaching and Learning in Engineering)
Learning through a screen, either at home or somewhere other than the classroom, makes staying motivated and meeting deadlines that much harder. To help support students in this reality, Desautels and Teaching and Learning Services are offering a peer-to-peer program to keep students focused and motivated as they progress through the term.
The Academic Strategies Cohort Program
Offers academic skill building within a wellbeing context. By meeting regularly in small groups, students get the chance to discuss their concerns, challenges, and personal contexts, while learning new strategies with peers and facilitators. Session topics include: Note-taking, Setting Goals, Procrastination, Memorizing strategies, Managing Anxiety and Exam Taking strategies. This program helps students develop flexibility, endurance and resilience.

FRezCA
FRezCa is a program that provides a collaborative learning environment, and a “one-stop shop” to engage with course TAs, undergraduate peer mentors and course professors. FRezCa aims to be a “learning community” by creating a supportive environment that can help address the challenges faced by incoming university students, including the often isolating experience of large, auditorium-style lecture classes.
SciLearn
SciLearn is a program to support incoming McGill science students’ transition to learning at the university level, with a focus on the challenges and opportunities that remote learning presents. In five online meetings over the semester, students will hear from learning experts and chat with fellow first-year students to explore various independent learning strategies and find the ones that work best.
Science Undergraduate Society's Peer Tutoring Service
SUS Peer Tutoring is a 100% free, volunteer-based tutoring service. In addition to matching tutor and tutee, group tutorials and review sessions are also organized.

The Graduate Student Research Progress Tracking Form is to be used during face-to-face meetings between the doctoral student, supervisor, and at least one other departmental representative.
