Helen McNamara, MD, MSc, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Her research activities include the development and management of Perinatal Research, and the Resident Research Program. She is the Chair of the SIOGC Committee at SOGC, and also Chair of the APOG Research Committee. Her teaching activities include working with the medical students in both the Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Epidemiology courses, and postgraduate teaching for the residents on both perinatal issues and research methodology issues. During her Teaching Scholar Program, she developed a course specifically designed to meet the needs of residents and fellows, in her project entitled "Clinical Medicine & Health Research: Integrated Training for Integrated Care?".
Dr. McNamara will give a presentation at Grand Rounds in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on Thursday, November 4, 2010, 8:00-9:00 a.m. The title of the presentation is: "Physician Wellness: Impact on Patient Safety, Students' Learning Environment and Life Balance."
