IUD Insertions
Students may have an IUD consult with a nurse or doctor at the Student Wellness Hub . STI testing and a prescription will be provided. Students can then call any of the following clinics to access a physician for the insertion procedure.
Students should bring their recent STI results and IUD with them to this appointment.
Some clinics may provide the consultation (i.e. a first visit for information, testing and IUD prescription) and then book another appointment for insertion. Other clinics may accept insertion for patients who have gotten an IUD prescribed by another physician. Both appointments may have a cost associated with the patient.

Sexual Violence
Sexual violence is any act of a sexual nature without one’s consent.
The services listed below are open to people of all genders, individual experiences of trans people accessing these services may vary.
Obtaining Medical Assistance:
You can choose to get medical and psychological treatment at a hospital or CLSC. They can also give you more information and assistance if you wish to report your assault to the police. You can choose which examinations to undergo. Nothing should be done without your consent. You will receive psychological support during the course of your treatment.
Staff will generally give you a medical examination, which consists of:
- Checking the general state of your health
- Treating any injuries
- Detecting any sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections
- Preventing unwanted pregnancy
- A gynecological and/or genital examination may be done
They may also give you a forensic examination if you are thinking of reporting the assault to the police. This consists of:
- Taking samples that may be biological traces from the assailant (sperm, saliva, blood) to create a forensic evidence kit that may be used if you decide to report the assault to the police
- You can have the forensic examination even if you have not decided if you want to report the assault to the police. The centre will hold the kit for 14 days, and if you decide to make a report in that time the centre will hand the kit over to the investigator.
If you decide to report your assault to the police, a counsellor can accompany you through this process. They can also provide you with documents justifying your absence from work and school.
You can return for follow-up appointments to assess your physical and psychological state, detect STIs and blood-borne infections, and check for pregnancy. A psycho-social follow-up will also be recommended.

IUD Insertion/Prescription
Students may have IUD consult with an MD at the Student Wellness Hub where teaching, STI testing and a prescription will be provided. Students can then call any of the following clinics to access a physician for the insertion procedure.
Bring your recent STI results and IUD to your appointment.
Some clinics may provide the consultation (i.e. a first visit for teaching, testing and IUD prescription) and then book another appointment for insertion. Other clinics may accept to do insertion for patients who have gotten an IUD prescribed by another physician.
