The Schulich School of Music is housed in both the historic Strathcona Music Building and the new $50-million music complex, which includes a world class sound recording and music technology research facility and an extensive Music Library. In addition to a rehearsal space large enough for an entire orchestra, this complex provides considerable room for music instruction, practice, and performance in a near-perfect acoustic environment.
Founded as the Conservatorium of Music in 1904 and later incorporated as a
faculty in 1920, the Schulich School of Music has enjoyed steady growth from
a handful of students to its present position as the largest music school in
Canada.
Staff and students present some 600 concerts and events each year in Pollack
Hall, Redpath Hall, Clara Lichtenstein Recital Hall, and the Tanna Schulich
Hall.
If you would like a tour of the Schulich School of Music or for further information, visit the Schulich School of Music web site, or contact the Schulich School of Music directly.
