Entrepreneurship for Science Students

Overview

If you are pursuing a BSc., this minor will teach you how to conceptualize, develop and manage successful new ventures. This can include for-profit private companies, social enterprises and cooperatives, as well as intrapreneurship initiatives.

This interdisciplinary and integrative program is jointly offered by the Faculty of Science and Desautels Faculty of Management — you will be working and learning with students from multiple faculties. You'll cover management essentials and the key concepts of entrepreneurship, including basic accounting, financing, organizational behavior, marketing, operations management, information technology, strategy — plus the basic processes involved in starting and managing a new venture.

Choose faculty-specific courses to further your knowledge in social, technological or agribusiness entrepreneurship. You also can gain hands-on experience through an entrepreneurial project or internship.

This minor cannot be combined with the Desautels Minors in Management, Marketing, Finance or Operations Management (for Non-Management students).
