Elizabeth completed her B.Sc. in Physics and is currently pursuing her second year of a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in the Nanoelectronic Devices and Materials Group. She finds the TeraHertz regime of the electromagnetic spectrum particularly interesting, as THz waves can be used to classify drugs and explosives, map out the earliest evolutionary stages of universe, and image diseased tissue in the body. These applications motivate her to spend her days designing, fabricating, and testing THz photodetectors.
Elizabeth's teaching experience includes tutoring students privately and in group sessions in undergraduate math and science, and TAing engineering courses. She is eager to help professors take a deep interest in their students' education in the belief that effective teaching is the foundation to spur interest and innovation in all fields of knowledge.
