Graduate Education Initiatives
The Graduate Education Initiatives at Teaching and Learning Services is a multi-faceted University-wide initiative that supports central university priorities articulated in the “Principal’s Task Force on Student Life and Learning “and the “ASAP 2012: Achieving Strategic Academic Priorities” by enhancing transition into and out of graduate school. Specifically, Graduate Education Initiatives address the ASAP Major Strategic Objective to Improve Grad Studies experience and Ensure innovation in graduate studies based on research strengths and competitive funding. It does this by addressing two core streams: Professional Development through SKILLSETS and Supervision for Professors.
SKILLSETS is a suite of Professional Development workshops for Graduate Students and Post-Doctoral Fellows that provide more general transitional/professional skills recommended for training High Quality Personnel.
Supervision offers research-based practical advice and guidance on the supervisory relationship. Learn how to avoid common problems in supervision and needless delays in degree completion through workshops and web articles.
