Mandatory Orientation for New McGill Supervisors

Location: McIntyre Medical Building, 208/9

In October, 2014, Senate approved revisions to the Guidelines and Regulations on Graduate Student Supervision to offer mandatory supervision orientation for new faculty members. This revision applies to all new faculty hires since 2015. Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) and Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) are looking forward to supporting you in your role as graduate supervisor at McGill.

The Mandatory Orientation session will provide you with an overview of the policy framework for supervision at McGill, best practices in graduate supervision, and key resources. The session provides an opportunity to ask questions and discuss solutions to common issues, which will inform your practice as a supervisor.

This orientation is mandatory for new faculty members, but recommended for all.
