Providing feedback to students on their writing assignments can be a complex and time-consuming task. It can also be frustrating in that students don’t necessarily pay attention to feedback.
How then can we engage students in the feedback process and encourage them to take responsibility for their learning? In this workshop, we will focus on strategies for providing feedback on undergraduate writing assignments such as essays and research (term) papers at all stages: before, during, and after the assignments. An additional benefit is that these strategies can result in a more efficient marking process for instructors.
