Clarifying Expectations in Graduate Supervision - Science

Imagine preventing common mistakes and avoiding confusion when taking on new graduate students. The Faculty of Science is pleased to present the Clarifying Expectations workshop. The goal of the workshop is to highlight the importance of articulating roles and responsibilities in supervisory relationships before problems or miscommunications occur.

Attend the workshop and learn 3 key strategies to improve graduate student performance: 

  • Develop a mutual understanding of the supervisory relationship with your student
  • Create a structure for your student’s progress through the program
  • Create a communication framework that makes explicit the expectations within the supervisory relationship
