About Applied Student Research
The Office of Sustainability’s Applied Student Research (ASR) and Curriculum Intern is compiling a database of all available ASR that promotes a culture of sustainability on McGill campus, and your help is needed in order to complete it! Applied Student Research provides information regarding sustainability opportunities for students, staff, and faculty.
How is ASR relevant? What are the benefits?
In addition to all the gains from doing conventional research projects, ASR also offers a diverse range of benefits, to both the individual and the surrounding community, including:
- Developing an integrated understanding of systems;
- Learning how to navigate and make change in organizations and institutions;
- Using learning as an opportunity to improve the community; and
- Getting real-world experience in applying skills and knowledge.
In essence, ASR can serve as a vehicle for positive change; in the process, participants will learn to effect that change in their future endeavors.
