SSMU Open Forum on Equity

The SSMU is planning a series of revisions to the SSMU Equity Policy next year. This Open Forum will be a chance for you to voice your opinions and provide feedback regarding SSMU's role in equity and social justice work on campus, and suggest changes you would like to see happen next year.

Two sessions will take place, with the same discussion topics on the following dates:

Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 2-4PM in Room 108 in the University Centre;

KANATA Volume 6: Call for Submissions!!

KANATA, the Undergraduate Journal of the Indigenous Studies Community of McGill University is calling for submissions for its sixth volume. 

KANATA is an interdisciplinary student-published journal with content that focuses on topics relating to Indigenous Peoples of North America. In the midst of the national uprising and international movement, Idle No More, KANATA is committed to engaging in dialogue with the greater community on Indigenous issues and creating platforms for the sharing of knowledge.

Nomination for the Award for Equity & Community Building

McGill University’s Award for Equity & Community Building was approved by Senate and the Board of Governors in April 2012. This award recognizes the work of students, faculty and staff committed to advancing equity and diversity at McGill. The first competition for the award will be held in 2013, with a nomination deadline of March 15th 2013.

Within the award, there are three streams of recognition. Up to three awards may be granted per year, one in each stream.
