General information
Unless otherwise stipulated, McGill students who have not graduated and wish to transfer into another undergraduate faculty (Inter Faculty), change their program within their current undergraduate faculty (Intra Faculty), or apply for readmission after a period of absence, can do so on the Minerva Faculty Transfers / Readmission Menu, found under Student Records on the Student Menu.
Students may NOT use the Minerva Inter-Faculty Transfer application to transfer to the following faculties: Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Graduate Studies and Continuing Studies. Students wishing to apply to these faculties must complete the online admission application found at www.mcgill.ca/applying/online.
Once an application has been submitted, any changes or cancellation must be handled in writing to the appropriate office.
- Students who have enrolled with the School of Continuing Studies subsequent to their last semester in an undergraduate degree program may not have access to the Minerva forms. Also, students whose last registered term in an undergraduate degree program is prior to September 2002 will not have access to the Minerva forms. Students in either of these situations should send an email to Service Point.
- The Faculty Transfer/Readmission menu is to be used only if the undergraduate degree has not been granted. If the undergraduate degree has been granted, then application to a new undergraduate program should be made through the Admissions Office.
- Readmission to the Desautels Faculty of Management for the Winter Term is restricted to students who were previously enrolled in the Desautels Faculty of Management, i.e. no Inter-Faculty Transfer requests are accepted for the Winter Term.
- A student wishing to withdraw his/her request to inter-faculty transfer after having accepted the offer to transfer into the new faculty and remain in his/her original home faculty, should advise both faculties of his/her new decision in writing. The original home faculty will update the student’s IFT application status on Minerva from ‘Offer Accepted’ to ‘Faculty Cancelled’ and inform the Records Unit of any required record changes.
