There are a number of organizations at McGill that help support student parents. Find out more below.
McGill Student Parent Network
The McGill Student Parent Network (MSPN) is a support system for McGill students who are balancing the demands of university studies with the responsibilities of parenthood. The MSPN organizes regular social events and monthly meetings for student parents and their families, offers free music lessons for children of McGill students, and even provides occasional in-home babysitting.
PGSS Family Care Caucus
The PGSS Family Care Caucus advocates on behalf of graduate students and post-docs who are pregnant, caring for a dependent child, or caring for an infirm or elderly relative.
PGSS Family Collection: Through the PGSS Library Improvement Fund, the Post-Graduate Students’ Society of McGill University in collaboration with the PGSS Family Care Caucus and the McGill Library created the PGSS Family Care Collection in order to assist students who bring their children to various branch libraries.
The SSMU Daycare Centre is a privately run, non-profit organization funded by the Students Society of McGill University and subsidized by the Québec Government. Located on the 2nd floor of the Brown Student Services Building, the SSMU Daycare offers full-time childcare to 32 children of the McGill community. First priority for Daycare spaces goes to children of undergraduate students at McGill. Children of graduate students and of staff and faculty at McGill may be offered space in the Daycare only once the needs of undergraduate students have been met.

McGill Childcare Centre
The McGill Childcare Centre, also known officially as the Centre de la Petite Enfance de McGill, is a non-profit, independently run centre which offers child care services to full-time McGill University students, faculty members and staff. It enrolls 106 full-time children ranging in age from four months to four years old. Registration for the fall term commences in the spring of the same year.
