ATTENTION SOLIN HALL RESIDENT FOR THE 2014-2015 ACADEMIC YEAR: Please note that unlike previous years, your lease agreement will not extend until July 31st and will instead terminate on April 30th, 2015 due to planned summer renovations. Accordingly, students will be charged for rent in 8 equal monthly installments instead of 11 monthly installments, reducing the total fees associated with this residence for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Solin Hall is the ideal choice for the student who desires the experience of living in a university residence but is also prepared to explore the exciting possibilities of living on one's own.
Solin Hall, a former chocolate factory, was renovated for student living in 1990. The fully furnished apartments have spacious interiors, high ceilings and oversized windows that flood them with plenty of natural light. Solin features large common areas, a computer lab, pianos, a fitness room as well as pool and air hockey tables.
The hall is located southwest of McGill's downtown campus. Most students choose to purchase a monthly Metro/bus pass, which covers the daily 4-stop subway commute from Solin to main campus. Solin's location is close to the Atwater Market, where fresh produce, baked goods, dairy and meat items are available, and to the beautiful Lachine Canal, which is perfect for walking, cycling, rollerblading or relaxing.
