EcoResidence

  • A typical EcoRez bedroom.
  • The exterior of the EcoResidence.

The EcoResidence is McGill's most innovative student accommodation. From the shell of an old residence, the EcoResidence was almost entirely created out of recycled materials, and now has state of the art heating and ventilation systems to maximize energy conservation. Resident students deposit their recyclables and compostables on site, and the latter is picked up twice per week and added to the general farm compost that is used to fertilize the campus gardens.

The EcoResidence attracts young men and women with a desire to live ecologically and independently. Each unit is a self-contained, fully furnished apartment with two or six single-bedrooms, and large, open common living areas. All units at the Eco-Rez are co-ed, and men and women can be assigned as co-residents in any of the units.

To get better acquainted with the EcoResidence, read our 2013-2014 Handbook!
