Graduation & Convocation Checklists

Graduation checklist

  1. Apply to graduate

You will not automatically graduate upon completion of your course credits. To complete your program, you must first apply to graduate. Click here to find out how.

  2. Confirm your graduation status

    • To participate in the Spring 2013 Convocation ceremonies, you must have applied to graduate by March 11, 2013 on Minerva.

    • If you have not applied to graduate by the above date, please contact your faculty's Student Affairs Office as soon as possible to find out what to do next. Students in the Faculties of Arts or Science must complete a Graduation Term Change Request form located on the Forms page and submit it to Service Point.

    • You can view your graduation approval status on Minerva as of Tuesday, April 16, 2013 by accessing the Student menu -> Student Record menu -> Graduation Approval Query.

  3. Fees and Fines

    • Students must ensure that all outstanding fees and fines have been paid before Convocation in order for a diploma and transcript to be released.

    • Remember, it is your responsibility to make sure all fees and fines have been paid.

    • View your account summary on Minerva by accessing Student menu -> Student Accounts menu.

  4. Correct a hold on your diploma/transcript

    • To find out if there is a hold on your account, check your status on Minerva and access the Student menu -> Registration menu -> View Holds. Note that any outstanding amount of $30 or more owing to the Library will block the release of diplomas and transcripts.

To remove a hold, contact the appropriate administrator:
