Students are expected to pay their tuition by their e-bill due date. Interest on outstanding tuition is charged monthly, however some students may be eligible for a Tuition Fee Deferral.
Who Qualifies
Students in a degree program with no prior outstanding tuition/fees may request that payment(s) of tuition and fees be deferred based on self-reported demonstrated sources of government aid, funding from the university, or external agencies. Graduate students may also qualify if they receive TA or RA employment income from McGill.
How To Apply
All requests are student-initiated via Minerva > Financial/Awards tab > Defer Payment of Tuition and Fees. Deferrals will be granted on a term by term basis during which time no interest or late payment charges will be applied on the fees covered by the deferral. The effective length of time, amount, and request deadlines will depend on the nature of the fee deferral itself. Click here for detailed information about Tuition & Fee Deferrals.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their situation has been accurately self-reported.
Please contact the Student Aid Office if a student-originated deferral insufficiently meets your financial needs. You will be asked to complete a full In-course Financial Aid application (via Minerva) and make an appointment with a SSAO or ISS Financial Aid Counselor.
