Marika Demers' interests are directed towards the use of dance as a therapeutic modality in rehabilitation for various populations, especially after a stroke. She is also interested in knowledge translation and innovative treatment interventions designed for people who suffered from a stroke.
Her current research project is looking at the knowledge translation about the use of dance as a therapeutic modality. This project is focusing on the support and barriers involved in translating knowledge about dance in rehabilitation to provide clear, concise and user-friendly instructions on the therapeutic use of a dance class.
Ms Demers is an occupational therapist working at the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital in the Stroke program.
