Research Description:

Dr. Belchior’s research focuses on training interventions to improve cognitive abilities in lalter life. Her current research examines the effectiveness of using video games training to improve the visual attention skills of older adults. Visual attention reflects the ability to quickly perceive and interpret information presented visually. Because visual attention has been shown to be related to everyday activities such as driving and self-maintenance, the study also examines the effects of training on simulated driving and daily task performance (e.g., managing finances, taking medication and using the telephone). She is also interested in investigating game enjoyment and game design for elderly use.
