Minor Concentration Program
NOTE: The newly revised B.A.; Minor Concentration in Sociology takes effect September 2008. It will apply to all new students enrolling in September 2008 or thereafter. Undergraduate students officially registered at McGill University before September 2008 may choose to follow either the previous program (please refer to guidelines) or the newly revised program (reflected below).
The purpose of the Minor Concentration is to give the student a basic understanding of the field of sociology.
U1 Required Courses (6 credits)
- SOCI 210 (3) Sociological Perspectives
- SOCI 211 (3) Sociological Inquiry
U2 Required Courses (3 credits)
- SOCI 330 (3) Classical Sociological Theory or
- SOCI 350 (3) Statistics in Social Research
Complementary Courses (9 credits)
9 credits of complementary courses, at least one course, must be taken at the 300 level or higher.
Independent Reading and Research Course/ Internship Course/Honours Project/ or Current Problems in Sociology
