The person we are looking for:

-A self -motivated, organized and personable individual

-Familiarity and cultural sensitivity to either the Jewish or Muslim/Arab communities

-Bilingual candidates will be prioritized

-While graduates will be prioritized, current McGill Social Work students will also be considered

What you will do:

• Recruiting candidates in schools around Montreal

• Animating weekly sessions with youth

• You and your fellow youth coordinator maintaing contact/connection with the youth participants and their families

• Updating our blog, and writing weekly notes about the sessions

• Working closely with the Director on all aspects of programming

Details:

Hours per week: 10 to 15

(Some weeks may go up to 20 hours if we hold a Sunday Afternoon session)

Pay per hour: $17.00

Start date: End of August 2014 (25th)

Project length: 5 Months (extendable)

L'Ancien Pensionnat Cote-St-Paul

L'Ancien Pensionnat Cote-St-Paul is a residence for seniors who are semi-autonomous.  We are located on a bus line (37) and not far from Jolicour metro. We are looking for volunteers to do the following: friendly visiting with our residents, assisting with group activities, taking someone out for a walk or coffee.  Many of our residents do not have family nearby and can't venture out on their own.  If you have time to spare and are interested in making a difference in someone's life, please contact Suzanne Charbonneau at 514- 903-1734 ext 227.

CLSC René-Cassin

The CLSC René-Cassin, located in Cote St. Luc and serving clients in Cote St. Luc, Hampstead and Snowdon West, is looking for volunteer animators for its Drop-In Centre, a community resource geared toward clients who have experienced a loss of autonomy related to a cognitive or physical disability. The centre also provides respite for those who care for family members at home. Animators organize activities and care for clients.

The CLSC also needs volunteers to visit the elderly. Some of our clients need help with grocery shopping, while others simply need you to help break their isolation. You need to give only one hour a week to help someone who desparately needs it.

Center for Learning and Performance - Undergraduate Research Interns

Have you ever wondered what it takes to do a PhD? Curious about what the daily life of a researcher? Can you present complex theoretical ideas with precision, clarity and intrigue? If so, your intellect and quick fingers are requested in the role of an assistant and typist for PhD researcher with the Center for Learning and Performance (with a fully funded doctoral researcher in the Learning Sciences). We're currently looking to fill several internship positions (typist and reader, admin assistant, research assistant). An honorarium will be awarded for your participation (the amount is calculated via your weekly involvement with the lab).
