The McGill Writing Centre is pleased to announce the launch of a free pilot tutorial service!
Tutors emphasize writing techniques and strategies as well as self-editing processes that will help students identify and eliminate common mistakes, express themselves clearly, and organize ideas and arguments effectively. Please note that tutors are not available to proofread or edit work. This would not only violate McGill’s policies on academic integrity but also inhibit students’ own development as writers.
Note: McGill Writing Centre services – courses and tutorials – are available for native and non-native speakers of English.
Sign up information:
An automated sign-up system will be in place shortly; for now, students who wish to make an appointment to see a tutor should sign up on the sheets posted on the main door of the Centre: Redpath Library, Main Floor, Room #02. Students may also use the service on a drop-in basis.
Appointments are for 30 minutes. Students should arrive on time so as to make maximum use of the appointment. A cancellation and lateness policy will be in place when the automated sign-up system is up and running. Please check the McGill Writing Centre website for updates on the tutorial services: www.mcgill.ca/mwc
Contact the MWC Tutorial Service Coordinator, Dr. Richard Cooper, for any additional information: richard [dot] cooper [at] mcgill [dot] ca.
