Career Development

Common career questions from Graduate Students and Post-doctoral Fellows:

  • How do I find out more information on careers that interest me?
  • Am I gaining the relevant skills and experience needed for my future career?
  • How do I make my application stand out from all the rest?
  • What other experiences or training should I pursue that would compliment my graduate training?

What does SKILLSETS offer?

In conjunction with the McGill Career Planning Service (CaPS), SKILLSETS offers:

  • a variety of resources to assist you in your career journey
  • tools to determine your field(s) of interest

Career development is woven into the core of many SKILLSETS workshops at a general and/or specific level, as graduate professional development is our primary objective.

McGill University is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. McGill honours, recognizes and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we meet today.
