At SIS, we seek to find better ways to organize, access, disseminate, use, and preserve information and recorded knowledge through the study of information-related phenomena.
As the pioneer school of its kind in Canada, SIS has been offering programs at McGill University in Montréal, Québec since 1897. Our MLIS degree has been continuously accredited by the American Library Association since 1929. Inheriting rich traditions of service from librarianship, we recognize innovation by integrating new options into our programs to educate new types of information professionals. These programs value a human-centered approach and are articulated around three specializations.
