Mandate

The mandate of McGill's Library and Information Studies Student Association is:

"To co-ordinate the activities of the students of the McGill Graduate School of Library and Information Studies and to ensure representation of student interests in the school, in the university, and in the library and information profession."

We are here to represent your interests and help you enjoy your time as a SIS student.

Keep an eye out for your representatives around the school and feel free to approach us with questions, ideas and any concerns you may have.

MLISSA holds elections every fall and spring for positions specific to MLIS I, II, and PhDs. When the elections come around, don't be shy. Let yourself be heard by running for a position on the council!

Come have a look at Beyond the Shelf, our new SIS student blog. Contributors are always welcome.

SIS Wiki

Visit the SIS Wiki to view the calendar of events & visit the MLISSA wiki page. The MLISSA page contains a range of procedural and archival information as well as notes about the MLISSA Constitution.

Marginal

The Marginal is the former e-zine published bi-annually by MLISSA. It gives a great historical snapshot of what SIS/GLIS students were talking about & accomplishing in former years. The Marginal e-zine replaced the print version of The Marginal, also known previously as the Marginal Librarian.
