Where to report a lost or stolen item at Macdonald Campus
Campus Security is also responsible for the Lost and Found department. On the Macdonald-John Abbott College campus, there are two lost-and-found locations where articles found on campus can be taken. One is in Laird Hall (room 101), and the other is in the Herzberg (room H-148), at the Department of Student Services.
Throughout the year, numerous items (clothing, textbooks, jewellery, identification glasses, keys etc.) are turned in. When articles are turned in to Campus Security, they are immediately recorded and tagged for record purposes, and then placed in a secure lock-up location. Articles are kept in the Lost and Found Office for sixty days; we encourage you to check with our office periodically if you have misplaced an item. All unclaimed items that period are then given to a recognized charitable organization.
McGill staff or students who have lost an article on campus should first verify with the building porter at Macdonald Stewart Complex. If the item is not found, the person should report to one of the central locations to inquire or to file a lost item report.
Lost items may also be reported to Campus Security by completing the Theft or Loss Form, which can be either submitted online, or printed and faxed to 514-398-7615.
