The Campus Security Department would like all members of the campus community to feel safe.
Making your environment more secure
Keeping your immediate environment safe
Physical environment
First, consider your environment in general. Your building will be accessible to many individuals after hours. Is your work area in an isolated part of the building or close to an exit?
Working late in the laboratory?
After hours lab work
The Safety Committee recommends that any member of the Macdonald Community performing laboratory duties alone during quiet hours (when no porter is on duty) contact Campus Security by telephone.
Restricted access
Lock-down of doors on off hours
As an additional safety measure, all entry/exit doors except the Macdonald-Stewart and Barton main doors are locked at 19h00, from Monday to Friday.
Emergency phones
Outside emergency phones across the campus
A network of Emergency Phones cover the Macdonald / John Abbott Campus. These phones are found outside buildings, along walkways, in parking lots and structures at various locations where they are most visible.
Mission statement
Security Services is committed to supporting the goals and mission of the University by providing a safe and secure environment for all.
