University flag

The University flag is flown from the staff on the Arts Building from morning to sundown, Monday to Friday inclusive. It is not normally flown on Saturdays or Sundays or on public holidays. The Governor General's flag is flown when the Governor General of Canada, Visitor to the University, is on campus.

The flag is lowered to half-staff to mark the death of the following members of the University community:



Convocation ceremonies at McGill University are held twice a year: in the spring (usually at the end of May or first week of June) and in the fall.
