On June 28, 2011 Principal and Vice-Chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum issued the following call to the McGill community for nominations for the awarding of honorary degrees at the Spring and Fall 2012 Convocation ceremonies:
The awarding of honorary degrees is the means by which the University expresses its highest ideals and standards, recognizing those individuals whose accomplishments are of such excellence that they provide inspiration and leadership.

Kindly accompany your nominations with a covering letter addressed to Chancellor H. Arnold Steinberg, Chair of the Honorary Degrees and Convocations Committee, stating the reasons for your nomination.
