Honorary Doctorates

McGill honorary degrees are awarded to distinguished individuals in recognition of a lifetime of scholarly, scientific or artistic achievement, or for exceptional contribution to the public good through professional or philanthropic activity.

Any member of the public or the McGill community may submit nominations. All nominations submitted are reviewed by the Honorary Degrees and Convocations Committee which in turn makes recommendations to Senate.

The nomination form, the guidelines for awarding honorary degrees and a list of previous recipients are available here.
