VPN update: Cisco AnyConnect client update to version 4.2, October 26, 2016

On Wednesday, October 26, 2016 there will be an update to the Cisco AnyConnect application, used to connect to McGill’s Virtual Private Network.

This update is a maintenance release that includes enhancements and resolves some known issues with the earlier version.

Windows and mobile devices:
For Windows and mobile users, the new version, v4.2, will be automatically installed when you attempt to connect to securevpn.mcgill.ca.

The Inaugural SCSD Donald G. Doehring Memorial Lecture

This lecture honors the first director of the McGill School of Communication Sciences & Disorders, who was instrumental in establishing the school with a strong focus on research and evidence-based practice.

Paediatric Feeding and Swallowing Workshop


McGill School of Communication Science and Disorder will be hosting a 2-day course by Prof. Joan Arvedson (PhD, CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow).

Construction noise in Leacock classrooms

City of Montreal construction in the area of the Leacock building is causing noise disruptions in some classes. The University has addressed this matter with the City, but there are few options available to alleviate the issue. McGill is working to relocate classes where possible and has moved most mid-term exams. On a positive note, the City has agreed to a moratorium on construction during the final exam period.

1.  Grad Supervision website: The newly updated Supervision website provides comprehensive evidence-based information about supervision best practices, policies, roles and responsibilities, and resources for both students and supervisors.

2.  SKILLSETS : SKILLSETS provides interdisciplinary professional development offerings to all graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. There are over 250 free professional skills events and workshops throughout the year.

There is a phishing email circulating with content relating to expiration of McGill e-ID Anti Virus. The message requests that the recipient click on a link to keep their account active.
